The Lachaise Foundation

Nature of Activities

The Lachaise Foundation is a charitable trust organized and existing under the laws of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Foundation was established in 1963 pursuant to the provisions of the Will of Isabel Lachaise, widow of Gaston Lachaise. The purpose of the Foundation is to perpetuate the artistic legacy of 20th century sculptor Gaston Lachaise for the public benefit. To achieve this goal, the Foundation sponsors a traveling exhibition of sculptures and drawings by Lachaise; oversees the production of a limited number of casts made from plasters by Lachaise to expand and strengthen his connection with the public, through loans, gifts and sales; and maintains an archive of books, magazines and other publications concerning Lachaise, his works and career.
